Creating clarity for
the UK’s leading
Cornwall. Making sense of the Energy & Water Sectors.
With huge growth over the last ten years ‘Cornwall Energy’ stood as a brand leader in the energy and water consultancy marketplace. However, this standing wasn’t reflected in their brand identity and through their digital portals.
We researched the marketplace and interviewed customers and stakeholders to better understand Cornwall as an organisation. Building on this research we renamed them Cornwall, adding market leading confidence and future-proofing them as a business. In the simplest terms we discovered that Cornwall created clarity for their clients in a complex industry. This became the key insight for the new identity.
We built a strong identity based around the strapline of ‘Creating Clarity’. The eye motif taken from the logotype extolled this thinking. We selected two primary typefaces to give flexibility and to aid in the communication of large articles with technical content. And we never forgot that they were confident, contemporary market leaders that demands a seriously and professional aesthetic.
A brand that champions clarity
Creating Clarity is the ‘raison d’être’ of Cornwall. The essence of what drives the business.
The human eye was the perfect metaphor for ‘seeing’ with clarity and was constructed using the ‘A’ of the logotype.
The dark clouds represented the potential chaos of future markets with Cornwall contrasting sharply against this obscurity.
A clear digital purpose
As part of the rebrand, OneAgency helped Cornwall completely re-think their complex digital offering. Our team undertook the task of taking multiple websites, digital publications and subscription portals, and combined them into a single comprehensive website. The result is a single source for all online resources across all sectors, enabling dynamic upsell of products and a single back-end system.

The Cornwall brand guidelines help distill the essence of the organisation, their values and their tone of voice in all communications.
It also polices and coordinates the visual brand identity across a variety of mediums.
Digesting lots of complex information can sometimes benefit from a little light relief. That’s why we introduced some editorial illustrations into the visual mix.
Designed to provide an overview to articles and the business sectors the illustrations illuminate conceptually adding to the overall clarity of the message.
