- What are the advantages to my practice?
Your practice will see the immediate advantage of having a fully integrated web platform, designed around your own business needs. You will be able to manage online products, stock, secure customer info (inc prescriptions info), sales and much more - all for a simple, cost effective, monthly fee. One major advantage is that the simple monthly payment includes design and marketing support time - each and every month.
- Why OneAgency? Why did NEG partner with you?
NEG and OneAgency decided to work with one another on this venture based on several reasons. Firstly, the decision was made due to the success we have had with other buying groups in the retail sector. NEG thought the platform was a superb opportunity for members to finally harness the internet - all at a simple, cost effective rate. OneAgency have experience in developing technical web solutions that fit with real 'day to day' business needs. They’re a multi award-winning digital marketing agency and are well established in Norwich, Cambridge and London.
- Do we get initial training on the use of website? If so how many hours?
Yes, training will be available. Also, the system will have instructions for you to follow online. Individual training will be set up to suit each member's needs and we have experience in helping and supporting ’non-technical’ retailers and business owners alike. This will be conducted via an email tutorial and via telephone contact with one of our account management team. Please note, we have an identical system running for a large retail group with many hundreds of ’non-technical’ users - this is fully supported and managed with a high focus on client management.
- Would we need a specific domain name? I already have my own company website at present.
Your current domain name can be used with your new website via the platform, however it will close down your current company website (unless you choose another domain for that site). If you wish to keep your current website running we can set you up with a sub-domain name which would allow you to access the platform and offer its features like the shopping element if you want to use the e-commerce function. An example would be shop.yourstore.co.uk - meaning you could have the best of both worlds. As a strategy, this has worked well for other users.
- Will I be able to develop SEO opportunities on the website?
Yes, your account manager will advise you on the best key terms to support your website. Your new website is built to be SEO friendly too meaning you can begin competing for the top spots on Google. On top of this, OneAgency can advise on other well proven digital marketing techniques - all designed to help increase traffic levels, sales and enquiries.
- What happens if I have more than one practice with different URL's will I need separate agreements?
Yes, unless you have the same name of company as a primary optician with linked outlets. It is possible that you can point multiple domain names to one website and this has helped other store owners combat this issue.
- What code is the platform written in?
The system is created using a versatile programming language called PHP. It is widely supported and runs a large majority of global websites including the likes of facebook.com.
- Will I have a shopping basket on the system and will my website be secure?
Yes, by using the ever popular SagePay we will provide secure online ordering facilities for your customers to use. This is a well proven and very secure payment provider that links directly with your banking provider.
- Are SagePay prices fixed per month? (as in there are no other extra transactional fees to pay)
SagePay costs have not changed in 3 years and we would be very surprised to see any changes here to those currently quoted on their website. The detail breaks down as follows: £25 per month if paid monthly or £238.80 if an annual payment is specified. Final monthly fee subject to SagePay approval. Transaction costs vary depending on merchant banking provider. SagePay partner, Elavon prices are 0.74% debit card 2.09% credit card at time of writing.
- Is £495+VAT the standard charge for design?
The £495 is the initial one-off set up fee and covers both system set up and design. Once set up, you can be given access to the platform which has been developed specifically for NEG members. This will enable you to use the system, design your new website, upload all of your content to populate your site as you see fit. It also includes the support and training program which we will run through with you.
- I thought there was also some discount for early registrations?
£495 is the initial one-off set up fee. The discount offered is on the monthly subscription for the first 100 members. This ongoing monthly fee is normally £125 but has been discounted to £99 per month, saving early sign ups £312 per year - every year! Please remember, this is only available on a ‘first come, first served’ basis so be quick!
- How long will it take to build it and go live?
OneAgency and NEG are currently in the final throws of the user sign up stage. Once all users are signed up, we expect the first batch of users to be live in around - 6–8 weeks to go live, dependent on the time you make available.
- When will I pay the £99 a month?
This fee is applicable 1 month after you’ve been given access to the system.
- Can I choose what data I put onto my website? Can I add my own content?
NEG are strong supporters of the member's independence and this extends to the eyeCom platform. You choose what content is on your website by adding new pages and populating these with your chosen wordage and images. You can add products using your preferred suppliers and product range(s) and, if they are not in the database you can easily add the content as a ‘custom product’. It’s very, very simple to do and OneAgency will talk you through how to do this.
- How will I set up a contact lens patient through the platform? Will we manually input the patient's prescription and give them a login code to our website to reorder?
You can enter your patient's details into the eyeCom platform. Simply add their details, including their prescription and product then give the patient their unique login which allows them to reorder via your website. New patients who order from your website will enter their details online and then scan or photograph a copy of their prescription. Once you have authorised their order, they also will be able to login and reorder. It’s really very simple and eyeCom takes care of the process reliably and easily.
- If the agreement is cancelled in the future, can we transfer the website to our own domains and carry on running an e-commerce site ourselves?
Sadly, no as your website is part of the centralised codebase from the main web platform. Your actual site is centrally hosted on the eyeCom platform so doesn't actually exist as a ’standalone’ website which is why you pay the small monthly subscription to access all of its benefits. If you decided to move to another, more expensive website solution then OneAgency will return all content and images back so nothing is actually lost.
