Companies come and go and so do agencies, but Van Dal has retained its position as a leading ladies’ shoes manufacturer over the past 75 years. Five of which we have worked with The Florida Group on the Van Dal brand, providing marketing communication services.
Our latest project has been the ‘Anniversary Brochure’ we worked with the client to write, design and print – celebrating the 75-year milestone and coinciding with our fifth year of working with the brand.
44 glossy colour pages pay tribute to the Norwich-based ladies’ shoes manufacturer detailing changes to the marketplace and industry. It underlines the key messaging of established heritage and commitment to the industry. The brochure has been distributed to the trade and inserted in key footwear industry titles to not only position The Florida Group and its heritage, but also present the new Spring/Summer 2012 collections from the Van Dal brand.
Over the past five years we have worked closely with Van Dal on all its advertising and branding materials, trade catalogues, consumer brochures and the design and build of its e-commerce website.
We’ve enjoyed every step of the way but particular highlights have been developing branding for a new technically advanced range of shoes named TLC and our creative campaign for the Vintage brand, which takes its inspiration from genuine Van Dal styles of the 1950s and epitomises the brand’s commitment to UK manufacturing.
Five years ago there was virtually no brand presence online but the development of an e-commerce site, which was closely integrated with our offline marketing and brand strategy and supported by an e-mail marketing campaign, has seen sales increase by an impressive 1,900 percent.
Today Van Dal is the last major manufacturer in Norwich, accounting for approximately 15 percent of total production. As a company they have taken 75 years of change and made the associated challenges into the opportunities of tomorrow.
