Lou swaps her office heels for running shoes

Congratulations to our production manager Louise Amies, who took part in Norwich’s 5k Race for Life in aid of Cancer Research on Saturday 14 May 2011.

This is the 12th consecutive year Louise has run the race, but this year she had a running buddy – eight-year-old goddaughter, Ruby. Participating in memory of Louise’s nanny, both her granddads and her auntie June – also Ruby’s nanny – who all sadly died from cancer, Louise has witnessed what great work Cancer Research does firsthand. And that’s why she’s acutely aware of the importance of raising vital funds.

Beating their target finish time, Louise and Ruby completed the race in just 33 minutes, including stopping time to tie laces and remove stones from trainers! The dynamic duo have, so far, raised £100 for the charity – and counting, with more sponsorship money coming in.

“We were really pleased with our performance. I did the race on my own last year in 30 minutes so I’m incredibly proud of Ruby for keeping up and finishing in such good time. It was a great day, really well organised and a fun atmosphere.”
