LockMetal rebrand

LockMetal

Unlocking a new brand identity for LockMetal

For over 30 years, LockMetal have been creating beautiful, buildable, and safe cladding solutions for a wide range of customers and projects. They approached OneAgency to further build on their reputation as a trusted and reliable cladding partner with a new, updated brand that reflects their industry-leading work.

With such a forward thinking, innovative team and outlook, it was important that the new LockMetal brand reflected this ethos. OneAgency worked on a full rebrand, including logo, visuals, strapline, tone of voice, brand guidelines, as well as a full new website.

The brief

Building on existing brand equity

Elevate the LockMetal brand to their target audiences, with a full rebrand, highlighting the breadth of services offered, the exceptional quality of the work produced, and the care and passion of the team.

The objectives of the rebrand included:

– Re-establish LockMetal as a trusted partner across a wide-range of construction projects.

– Inject new life into the brand, with a strong new visual identity alongside a clear new tone of voice .

– Create impactful video content, showcasing both the breadth of projects worked on, and the people behind the brand.

Design and build a new website, making it easy for users to see case studies, services, and products, and ultimately driving those users to get in contact.

Our approach

Getting the details right – the foundation of our work

Beginning with a brand discovery workshop with a group from LockMetal, including directors, team leaders, designers, project managers, and pre-construction technicians. After a lively discussion to understand the brand perspective and values, the OneAgency team came away with one overarching thought – for LockMetal, it’s the details that matter.

From there, we got to work. In partnership with the LockMetal team, we designed and created a new look and feel that elevates the brand and acts as a proof point to support the teams in procuring new contracts.

The rebrand

Detail. Locked in. It’s a new identity to be proud of

To make a real impact, a creative rebrand was essential. Working in close partnership, the creative and content teams worked to distill the brand essence – taking it in a modern and innovative new direction.

When working on a well-known brand within the industry, there is a balance to be struck between old and new. The final result pays homage to some of the original direction – the warm red is symbolic of the founder’s van from when he started the business – while the tone of voice maintains the authority built through years of hard work.

The updated logo, representing the L and M of LockMetal, as well as creating an L in the negative space, suggests a building in plan form, and its shadow. The specific proportions also allow the L and M to ‘lock’ together when animated.

Videography

Working with our in-house videographer , we captured several projects in progress on-site, and using drone footage, we were able to create a scroll-stopping brand video that highlights the scale and scope of the projects LockMetal works on. But that’s only half of the story. The other part of the brand – and arguably the most important – is the people behind it.

We visited the LockMetal office, and asked the team what the brand meant to them. The result is an emotive and impactful brand video combining stunning visuals with personal stories.

Web design

With such a striking new brand look and feel, it was vital that the website reflected this. Working with Wix as a platform, our UX team crafted a dynamic and impactful website experience that makes it easy for users to see the work that LockMetal produces, – and the people that make the work happen.

And this is just the beginning. Building on these strong foundations, we’ll be further optimising the website, rolling out new, dynamic case studies, and continuing to raise brand equity with the relevant audiences.

“It’s been a great experience to work with OneAgency, they really do have a great team with a vast breadth of experience in all areas of marketing. We really appreciated the time they invested to truly understand the business and our people, it gave us all reassurance as we progressed through the re-brand journey. And as for the final result… We can’t help admitting we are rather proud!”
