Eurocell
The brief
Eurocell is one of the UK’s biggest manufacturers, distributors and recyclers of UPVC products for homeowners and the building trade.
Eurocell commissioned OneAgency to build a UPVC Window and Door microsite to include a full online configuration of doors, windows, bifolds and garden rooms with the capability to checkout with various payment options. This necessitated a complicated 2 step order approval and checkout process.
The brief was to scope, design and custom code an e-commerce microsite that would run parallel to the eurocell.co.uk website. There was also a requirement to integrate warehouse systems and e-commerce with a variety of 3rd party service providers.
In 8 months, OneAgency handed over a fully functioning, market-ready e-commerce system.
Our approach
After reviewing the brief, we decided to build the site from the ground up using bespoke Laravel/PHP with Vue.JS assisting with some of the frontend components.
One of the most challenging aspects of the build was fitting easy-to-use e-commerce functionality around Eurocell’s complicated checkout process requirements.
Our UX/UI team matched the brief by working closely with Eurocell to define steps. With each step matched technically in backend processes. An order is placed, gets approved by a house visit, and then final payment is actioned to conclude the process. This was all done using email communications to customers, website administrators and fabricators. Our system was capable of making amends to orders if a property audit needed slight tweaks (e.g. door size).
Another challenging component of the backend code was being able to handle complex pricing matrices which the industry uses to size up doors and windows.
To help promote products at key points in the Eurocell marketing calendar, our system included a promotional discount system. This allowed for changes in the site design and merchandising to promote sales and selected discounted products.
We also provided configuration for Eurocell’s large range of garden room products and optional extras. One notable feature was the capability to change the viewing angle while configuring your product, a handy tool for consumers.

Our solution launched with both SAP and Barclays ePDQ payment integrations. OneAgency worked with both suppliers to make sure that all integrated data moving between systems remained secure, was exact and free of errors.
With most items in the high ticket price bracket, Eurocell required a finance checkout option. We launched with Barclays Finance, two months after we completed the project. Many changes were needed to support finance, including a finance calculator on every configurator page. Finance was included in a new checkout process, allowing customers to pay by finance or by card. We also included many site design adjustments to aid the new flow to finance.
Eurocell’s new CMS and Barclays Finance communicated via a secure API connection, fully tested and ready for launch.
